Dolly Parton Releases Statement On The Passing Of Lisa Marie Presley: “May You Rest In Peace”

Yesterday, Lisa Marie sadly passed away at the young age of 54.

The daughter of Elvis Presley, the King of Rock ‘n Roll, suffered a full cardiac arrest at her home in Calabasas, California.

Paramedics issued CPR and administered an adrenaline shot to restart her heart before taking her to a local hospital where she was induced into a coma and placed on life support.

She passed away shortly thereafter.

Of course, her tragic death is all the more shocking after she was seen at the Golden Globes just two nights ago.

She, along with her mother Priscilla, were in attendance in support of Elvis, the new Baz Luhrmann Elvis biopic starring Austin Butler, Tom Hanks, Olivia DeJonge and more.

The tributes and heartfelt condolences have been pouring in ever since, and our thoughts and prayers are with her family, especially her mother Priscilla and three surviving children, as they grieve this massive loss.

And of course, Dolly Parton seemed to find the right words, if there are any, to describe how the world is feeling in the wake of losing her, sharing this heartfelt post on Instagram with a simple “heart” emoji as the caption:

“Priscilla, I know how sad you must be. May God comfort you at this time. Elvis, I know how happy you must be to finally have her home and to have her back with you.

Lisa Marie, may you rest in peace. We all love all of you.”

Dolly Parton’s “Heartbreaking” Decision Not Letting Elvis Cut “I Will Always Love You”

Elvis and Dolly go way back, and in fact, he actually almost recorded her mega hit song “I Will Always Love You.”

Back in 1974, Dolly Parton had a phone call with Elvis’ infamous manager, Colonel Parker, the day before Elvis was supposed to go into the studio to actually cut “I Will Always Love You” to discuss the deal.
